The City of Cochran and Bleckley County are making preparations for the SECC Spring Meet, March 18rd -23rd, 2012. There is now power to the new, unused camping sites in the back field and progress is being made to provide power to additional new 20 sites. That will result in an additional 40 camping sites that will be available for the Spring Meet in March. The Spring SECC Meet is among the first big Cushman Meets of the year drawing folk from all over the country. Keep in mind that the recreation center is reserved for the week preceding the meet ( Beginning Monday, March 12th ) for early birds. Many Cushman vendors will be present. Activities include group rides, early bird dinner, banquet, scooter show with awards (people's choice), parts auction, swap meet, and other activities. Click HERE to down load the Georgia Motorcycle Laws * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Camping Policy at 2012 Cochran SECC Meet Mike Smith is going to reserve camping spots in 2012. Last year, Mike went around and asked campers if they wanted to reserve the same spot for the 2012 SECC Spring Meet. If they did, he signed them up and noted the date they said they would probably arrive. After the 30 days following the the 2011 Meet, all of the unreserved camping spots would become available to anyone to reserve. On the financial side, it works like this: Everyone who reserves a spot will be charged for the full 12 nights at $15 per night no matter when they arrive. The advantage is that one may arrive anytime he wishes and will know that they have their favorite camping spot waiting for them. Anyone coming to Cochran this year (2012) who wants to reserve a camping spot may call Mike at : ( 478 ) 230 - 7300 during day time hours. Mike wants you to tell him what day you think you will arrive. If you don't arrive on that day and have not contacted him and changed your arrival date, then on the next day, your spot becomes open. Bear in mind that in reserving a camping spot, you will be responsible to Mike for the cost of the entire 2 weeks beginning Monday, March 12th, at $15/night. The total amount will be $180. On the other hand, if one does not wish to reserve a spot (and pay for the 2 weeks), and simply come to the meet whenever he wishes, and wants a camping hook-up, he will be assigned a spot on a first come, first serve basis. In this case, camping fees will only begin upon his arrival and not on March 12th. Please note that the official dates for the Spring 2012 SECC Meet will be Sunday, March 18, 2012 thru and including Friday, March 23rd. As always, The Cochran - Bleckley Recreation Center will be reserved for the SECC beginning the week before on Monday, March 12, 2012.
